Yesterday, there was a chaos all over that whether Bollywood Actor Aamir Khan is removed as a brand ambassador of ‘Incredible India’ or not. And there was a buzz that he might be removed due to his controversial remark on ‘Intolerance’ which he had given in November 2015.
But now, the Government has confirmed that Aamir is no longer a part of Incredible India Campaign.
While speaking at the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards in November, Aamir said that “There is a sense of insecurity, fear and despondency. Kiran and I have lived all our lives here, but for the first time, she asked me to move out of India. As she fears for her children and she is also scared of what the environment around us will be. And this is a very big and disastrous statement for Kiran to make to me.”
Aamir’s above statement raised the voice over alleged growing Intolerance in India. And for the above statement, he had to face lots of criticism. But later, Aamir clarified his statement by saying, “Neither I nor my wife have any intention of leaving the Country as I am proud to be an Indian.”
And now after his removal as a brand ambassador of ‘Incredible India Campaign’, Aamir said that “Whether I am a brand ambassador or not, India will remain Incredible, and that’s the way it should be”. He also added that he respects Government’s decision.
