PM Modi’s Swacch Bharat Mission has been an inspiration for millions. Everyone is contributing their bit in ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’. But what this Kanpur woman did to build a toilet at her residence is something which is heart-warming.
Lata Devi from Kanpur sold her ‘mangal sutra’ to build a toilet. She said that she was inspired by PM Modi ‘Swachh Bharat Campaign, so she decided to build a toilet.
“We used to face a lot of problems, finally decided to build the toilet after PM Narendra Modi’s campaign inspired me,” she said, as per ANI.

“Toilet is a basic necessity, compared to jewellery and so I sold them. Didn’t get any help from the government,” she added.
Latha’s husband, Baburam always gave an excuse that money should be spent on their daughter’s marriage rather than on building a toilet. But after realising the importance of sanitation , he supported his wife’s decision.
Diwakar said she also sold her calf as she discovered that the cost of building a toilet is ₹25,000.
