It was all started when some school children of Mumbai claimed that they have noticed some ‘suspicious looking’ men around the school in Mumbai’s Uran area. They claimed that the men were seen carrying weapons and backpacks. After this, the news started circulating all over the media. Sketch of the terror suspect was also published in the newspapers. But it all went wrong when an Oria newspaper published the sketch of the terror suspect which looked very similar to journalist Rajdeep Sardesai.

This was the original sketch of the suspect:

And this is what Odia daily ‘Sambad’ published:

Irked by this big flaw by the daily, Rajdeep took on to twitter and blamed it on Modi Bhakts. He tweeted:

“Just saw a Odhiya newspaper Sambad puts up my sketch as a terror suspect based on RW Twitter gang mischief. If not war, these guys will kill! Photo shopped pics, lies, fake reporting, abuse: what next will this bhakt army stoop to on Twitter? And who will call their diabolical bluff?”

However, the daily later apologised to Rajdeep Sardesai saying it as a ‘grave error’:

Though Rajdeep accepted the apology, he asked the daily to apologise with the same prominence in their next day’s paper. He wrote:

“Apology accepted but expect it with the same prominence on your front page Tomw. And start a refresher course.”

The newspaper had updated their e-paper which had Rajdeep’s sketch. And this is what was published in Today’s front page of the daily:

Rajdeep appreciated the sincere apology from the editor of the newspaper. He wrote on Twitter:

“Appreciate unreserved apology from editor on front page. Lesson for all of us to be more careful.”
