With an aim to defame PM Modi, one lie has been circulating all over the social media from past few days. “RBI’s new Governor Urjit Patel’s wife is Nita Ambani’s sister and hence the news of ‘Demonetisation’ was leaked to Ambani even before PM Modi announced it on 8th November,” this was the news that was going viral.
And without any verification, people started sharing and forwarding this message. But on digging the internet we found the whole truth. This was actually a lie which was spread by hate mongers of the Government who wanted to defame PM Modi.
Here is what the reality is:
- Nita Ambani has only one sister and her name is Mamta Dalal. Their father’s name is Ravindrabhai Dalal.Mamta works as a teacher in Dhirubhai Ambani School in Bandra.
- On the other hand, Urjit Patel was married to Kanan Patel and they have two children, Eishan and Ishika.
- Kanan is the daughter of Anil R Patel and not Ravindrabhai Dalal.
There is also some news that Urjit Patel is unmarried. We can not claim any news about Urjit Patel’s marriage. But the one thing that is true for sure is that Urjit Patel is not married to Nita Ambani’s sister.
Urjit Patel is a highly accomplished Economist. He obtained his Bachelor’s in Economics from the London School of Economics , M. Phil. degree from Oxford University , and a doctorate in Economics from Yale University. After obtaining his Ph.D., Patel joined the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 1990 worked in the USA, India, Bahamas and Myanmar desks at IMF till 1995.
On 11 January 2013, Patel was appointed as Deputy Governor of RBI for a period of three years. And his recommendation letter addressed to the home ministry was written by none other than Manmohan Singh, the then Prime Minister of India. “He is very important for the country,” Manmohan Singh had said. So, UPA must have seen the future before appointing Urjit Patel into RBI that they can accuse Modi.

All the congis and Aaptards should have checked the history before making any false allegations against PM Modi.
