Yesterday, In an emotional speech PM Modi blasted the corrupts who are opposing demonetisation. He said that it was done for the benefit of people.
Countering the rivals targeting him over demonetisation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said people in public life are brazenly supporting corruption and black money.
“Values in public life are eroding… I see that people in public life are giving speeches in support of corruption and black money. They are brazenly out in open doing so.
In any country, erosion in values is the biggest crisis,” he said. “Coming generations will not forgive those who are betraying the values,” he said.
Addressing the BJP Parliamentary Party, Modi urged party MPs to counter what he called was “misinformation” being spread by the Opposition parties on demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.
“We came to power for the poor, not for our own sake,” Modi is reported to have told his MPs.
“The poor, the lower middle-class and the middle-class have been suffering for the last 70 years due to corruption and black money.
“This decision is in the favour of people and against black money, corruption and counterfeit currency. Our target is to fight a long battle against all these,” he said.
PM Modi was speaking at the launch of Shraddheya Kedarnath Sahni Smriti in New Delhi.
