Ahead of the 8th BRICS summit and the first BRICS-BIMSTEC Outreach Summit on October 15-16 in Goa, PM Modi posted a statement on his Facebook page welcoming the leaders.
PM Modi asserted “India is delighted to host the 8th BRICS Summit in Goa on 15-16 October 2016, followed by a first-ever BRICS-BIMSTEC Outreach Summit. I look forward to extending a warm welcome to the ten leaders of the BRICS and BIMSTEC families.”
“President Putin’s visit will give us an opportunity to consolidate and reaffirm a unique time-tested friendship and partnership with Russia. President Temer’s visit will open up new areas for cooperation with Brazil, an important strategic partner,” PM Modi said in his facebook post.
And today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended a warm welcome to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who arrived here today ahead of the BRICS summit.
But before the Russian President’s arrival, the way PM Modi welcomed him on twitter had drawn everyone’s attention. He posted a welcome message in The Russian Language. He said in his tweet: “India welcomes you, President Putin! Wishing you a fruitful India visit. @KremlinRussia_E”. See his tweet below:
