On Saturday, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi flew down to Mumbai where he laid down the foundation stone for a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji. It will be 192-metres tall — the tallest memorial in the world and the budget of the memorial is estimated to cost Rs 36 billion ($530 million).

After the announcement has been made, several people have shared their opinions. Some are in favor of the decision by the Government while some are showing their dissent. They say that the money should be used on other needful things. But then, who are we to decide?

Among several who showed their dissent on building the statue, Rajdeep was one of them. See how in a series of tweets he showed his disagreement:

But then twitter exploded on him bombarding with several questions asking why he didn’t raise questions when Govt.  spent money on Haj Houses and Haj subsidies; when Nehru and Gandhi’s memorial was made; when Taj Mahal was build; when Mayawati spent crores of money on building elephant statues.

And if the sickulars want to prove their point correct saying that it a ‘wastage of money’, then by that logic no statue or memorial would have been ever built in our history because that money could also have been used for the needy.

See how Twitterati lashed out at Rajdeep:

AND HERE COMES SOME SENSIBLE TWEETS:

The thing here is not about showing your dissent. You for sure can share your opinion, it’s your ‘freedom of speech’. But the thing is why not before when other memorials were built? Why only Now? Isn’t this shows your hypocrisy?

DO SHARE YOUR OPINION ON THE ISSUE! SHARE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT’S DECISION OF BUILDING ‘CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MEMORIAL’.
