Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced Rs 1 crore financial assistance to the family of a retired soldier who killed himself demanding the OROP’s implementation. Kejriwal offered this grand amount to Grewal’s family because he considered him to be a martyr.
But we all know the real reason behind this grand compensation. Kejriwal has done this all because of political opportunism. He has done for his own interest, for his own petty vote bank politics. And ever since he has announced to give the compensation, he has been accused of being an opportunist. Because the fund is not his private fund. The funds are from the exchequer of the Delhi government, which is highly subsidised by the national exchequer.
Kejriwal considers Grewal as a martyr, but what about other armed forces who laid down their lives for our safety. He never showed his concern for their welfare. Why had he not given any amount to the Uri Martyrs’ family?
In an interview with India Today, Kejriwal was asked the same question. He was asked will he give Rs 1 Crore each to the families of other martyrs as well? And what he said to this shows his notion of his low-level politics.
He said that Grewal has done something extraordinary for the Country so he is giving the compensation for him. Ok, so Grewal has done an extraordinary thing but what our martyred soldiers did was ordinary as it was their line of duty as per Kejriwal.
He said that I don’t have money to give to the martyred soldiers and Modi Ji is responsible for it. He also added, “Agar Modi Ji ke paas paisa nahi hai unhe dene ke liye to wo Isteefa De de, hum paisa denge”.
