Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and Shatrughan Sinha waded into the Intolerance debate and disapproved the remarks on ‘Intolerance’ made by some of the renowned Bollywood Actors.
Veteran Bollywood Actor and BJP MP Shatrughan Sinha said that it is ‘naadan'(Childish) for some of the Bollywood Actors to talk on ‘Intolerance’ within the Country and that he does not agree with them.
“A lot of people from the film industry brought up the issues of intolerance in haste, and it is childish to do so. I don’t stand by them in this regard,” Sinha said during a session on the last day of the Jaipur Literature Festival.
Sinha also said he agreed with fellow actor Kajol’s remarks at the festival where she said “no barrier, no line, no caste or creed in Bollywood.”
Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar also slams remark on Intolerance by saying that “I think there is so much of tolerance in our Country”.
“Any kind of ups and downs happen in every nation and you can’t get into so much straight away that you start giving such bold statements. These kinds of things happen. There are so many good things also which we don’t speak about,” said Akshay.
However, after some days of his Intolerance remark, Aamir tried to clarify his statement by saying “I never said India was intolerant or I wanted to leave the country. I also understand the emotions of those who were hurt. I would like to say that my statement was misunderstood and to some extent media is responsible for it.
Few days back, Filmmaker Karan Johar also sparked the ‘Intolerance’ Controversy by saying Freedom of expression ‘the biggest joke’ and Democracy ‘the second biggest joke’.
