Last year, Bollywood Actors Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan had raised lots of controversies by their remarks on ‘Intolerance’. And they had to face severe backlash for their remarks.
Shah Rukh on his 50th Birthday said that there is extreme intolerance in the Country. He also said that religious Intolerance and not being secular is the worst kind of crime that you can do as a patriot.
Aamir had said that he is alarmed by the growing ‘Intolerance’ in the Country and that his wife had asked him to move out of the Country.
But after months of their remarks after facing so much of backlash, they attempted to give clarifications for their remarks.
In December last year, Shah Rukh Khan apologised for his ‘Intolerance’ Remark.
And now Aamir is also attempting to clarify his statement. Speaking at the 10th anniversary of his film ‘Rang De Basanti’, he said “Some could understand me and some couldn’t. And those who are hurt, I can understand their feelings. I would have been hurt had I been in their place because they were told something that was not true”.
He also said that his comments were taken out of context.
See below what Sofiya Rangwala had to say on their clarifications:
“First SRK and now AK is also changing his stand on intolerance remarks. What took so long bhaiya? So rahe the kya aap dono abhi tak? But no worries, we are still not watching Dangal and thanks to the Tourism Ministry for removing you from the position of the brand ambassador for Incredible India, since you chose to become ambassador for Intolerant India.
Award wapsee oldies are taking back their awards, because it’s fun to play ping-pong.
Badhai ho India. Intolerance Season-1 is over for now. India is suddenly the same old, secular, democratic, cultural and traditionally tolerant Nation now. Hope everyone is feeling very safe and happy being in India.” 😆
